ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

Are you like me and you keep meaning to send out holiday cards but you can’t seem to get it together. And then maybe you think, I’ll send out New Year’s cards instead and that never happens either. And maybe you think, everyone will love a Valentine because they aren’t expecting it, but that doesn’t happen either. And then it’s summertime all of a sudden. Are you like that too????

Wellllllllll. Join me for some holiday card making in October. Essentially signing up for this workshop means you are blocking off the time to get started (or finish!) your holiday cards for 2026. I’ll have a table full of supplies ready for you (if you have something special you want to use feel free to bring it, too!). I’ll have different types of paper and other supplies (scissors, glue, watercolors, rubbing plates, markers … and more!!!). I’ll demonstrate how to make an envelope to get us started, and then you’ll have the rest of the time to make as many cards as you can. You can also use this time to edit your mailing list or compose a letter to include with your cards or to address envelopes. Whatever feels like the best use of your time … all while hanging out with other creatives.

During our time together we will (you probably won’t have time for all of this but these are options):

  • make an envelope.

  • make some holiday cards.

  • organize your list.

  • address envelopes that you make or bring.

Who should take this workshop?

People who…

  • people who are usually so un-organized about their holiday cards that the season passes before they remember to get started.

  • people who are super organized about their holiday cards and are excited to work on them in October.

  • need a creative boost to get back into art-making.

  • need a creative boost to start a new creativity practice.

  • love messing around with supplies and getting creative.

  • want to meet other creative people in Atlanta.

I’m at my happiest when I’m creating. The time I spend using my hands and heart and creativity are the moments that have the biggest impact on my day-to-day well-being. And I’d love to share this with you!

Meet Christy

Hi! I’ve taught hands-on creativity, art, and craft classes, workshops, and camps all over Atlanta. I was a Teaching Artist at the High Museum of Art for 10+ years, and I’ve also taught hands-on creativity workshops, activities, and camps at MODA (Museum of Design Atlanta), Clubhouse Kid + Craft, Atlanta Public Schools, Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony, Purpose Possible, Little Art School, Art on the Beltline, Paradise Garden, Agnes Scott College, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and more!

Additionally, I’ve hosted my own workshops and retreats through the Indie Craft Experience, which I co-founded in 2005 and co-owned until 2023. I’ve been an artist/crafter/maker since I was old enough to pick up a pencil and use scissors (so something like 45-ish years!).

I love sharing ideas and techniques with others, and I believe workshops are a great way to re-charge your creativity. I’m my absolute happiest when I’m making and creating. I hope to pass this joy and happiness along to others.

I look forward to making art with you!

-Christy
